Azerbaijan sends energy aid to rebuild Ukraine’s power grid

Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk reported the information."This assistance was delivered under the Agreement on the Donation of Energy Equipment for the Restoration of Energy Infrastructure," she said.According to her, Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed this Agreement on August 11 of this year after Azerbaijan announced the allocation of $2 million from its reserve fund to purchase and send electrical equipment."In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Azerbaijan has delivered 125 humanitarian shipments to Ukraine weighing 2,110 tons and worth more than $11.5 million USD. The aid included generators, power transformers, transformer substations, cable products, and other critically important equipment," the minister emphasized.Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, this is the fourth agreement under which Azerbaijan has provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector."Thanks to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for supporting the international track in the energy sector. I am grateful to the people of Azerbaijan and to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for supporting Ukraine in this difficult time. Every resource provided helps energy workers respond quickly to damage and restore facilities faster, returning light and heat to the homes of millions of Ukrainians.On August 29, a DTEK crew came under Russian fire while carrying out emergency repairs near the front line in the Dnipropetrovsk region. No one was injured.
