This was stated on Espreso TV by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk."It remains clear that Pokrovsk is a priority for the enemy. Today, the enemy has carried out a strategic regrouping because the calendar is turning — we will soon be in September 2025. I remind you that there was a lot of publicity around the enemy’s summer offensive campaign, but we see that the occupiers failed to achieve any strategic goal. Unfortunately, there have been tactical advancements, one of the reasons being the huge number of enemy forces that are willing to die for the 'czar' and unclear ideological reasons," commented the military spokesperson.Read also End of summer campaign without victories: why Russian offensive proves strategic failureAccording to him, the enemy has over 100,000 troops under Pokrovsk and will likely attempt to implement its scenario after the strategic regrouping. They will try to approach the outskirts of Pokrovsk and engage in urban warfare as part of the upcoming autumn-winter offensive campaign.“The enemy will try to secure the outskirts of Pokrovsk and fully enter the city to engage in urban battles. It’s clear that autumn and winter are the best times for the occupiers to proceed with their plans. I hope that the decisions made by the Ukrainian command, along with the bravery of our comrades, will prevent the enemy from achieving its objectives. Today, it is the Donetsk region. The battle continues, and it will not be less intense. The enemy is not going to stop. Again, I stress that the enemy will intensively attack Pokrovsk because it is a priority for them,” Bratchuk concluded. On August 29, 172 combat encounters were recorded along the Russian-Ukrainian front. On the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 50 enemy assault actions.
