He wrote this on Telegram.Sternenko said the rotations began after Russia’s latest massive airstrikes. According to him, this includes operators of interceptor drones.“On the one hand, we say we are building up the air defense system, and on the other — we are dismantling it with our own decisions,” Sternenko noted. He stressed that such steps are being taken amid Russia’s active ramp-up of Shahed-type attack drone production, which poses a serious threat to Ukraine.“We delivered interceptors to one of the air defense units. But now there’s no one left to operate them,” the volunteer said. What the General Staff of Ukraine saysGeneral Staff spokesman Andriy Kovaliov, commenting on Sternenko’s claim, said: “This information is not true.”In a comment to Ukrinform, Kovaliov explained that transfers only concern servicemen whose specialties are not critically important for their units’ combat readiness, and they are reassigned to new positions according to their skills.“All highly specialized air defense personnel — those serving in high-tech roles, specialists in automated control systems, computing, UAVs, interceptor drones, and those trained abroad on Western-supplied weapons and equipment — remain in their posts and continue performing their duties,” Kovaliov said.According to him, new air defense units are being formed and personnel are being trained to work with modern weaponry. He also noted that the reverse process is underway — infantrymen are being transferred into technical specialties to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
