Sanctions, tariffs — all must remain on the agenda,” he emphasized.At the same time, Zelenskyy mentioned future Ukrainian-American agreements on arms purchases and drones, “which could significantly strengthen our arsenals.”“And of course, the humanitarian track. The return of all abducted children. We very much hope that America, the president and the First Lady of the United States, will continue to make personal efforts to return all the children abducted by Russia,” the Ukrainian leader added.Kellogg–Shmyhal meetingOn August 25, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also met with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special representative Keith Kellogg and the American delegation: they discussed the future signing by Trump and Zelenskyy of an agreement on drone production and sales.“Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov, and head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, gave the U.S. delegation a detailed analysis of enemy plans and the situation on the front. Together with our partners we must increase pressure on the aggressor to force it into a just, lasting and sustainable peace,” he said.
The prime minister noted that he informed Kellogg about Kyiv’s defense needs, in particular the need to increase production of ammunition and drones to stop the enemy’s offensive.“We also discussed preparations for the signing by the presidents of Ukraine and the United States of an agreement on the production and sale of drones (Drone deal). During the meeting, the relevant documents were handed over to the American side,” the head of government emphasized.The Ukrainian and U.S. sides also discussed creating reliable security guarantees to prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine again.During his visit to Kyiv on August 25, Keith Kellogg stated that diplomatic work on security guarantees for Ukraine is ongoing and is very complex.
