The spread of such content in Ukraine today is not just a paradox, but actually a challenge to national security and cultural identity. Russian music, especially that created or supported by individuals who openly approve of Russia's aggressive policy, should be maximally restricted in our information spaces," the Commissioner said.Ivanovska proposes acting within the framework of the Culture law, involving the National Security and Defense Council and other state bodies, as well as international platforms. It is emphasized that the process should be transparent and legally justified in order to gain support from society and the world.Regarding Russian-language creativity by Ukrainian performers, the legislation currently does not provide for restrictions, but according to the ombudsman, there is a growing public demand for Ukrainian-language culture as a symbol of unity and resistance. Therefore, the authorities are preparing changes to language legislation."Currently, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian Policy is preparing to consider amendments to language legislation, and this opens a window of opportunity for discussing and implementing new norms that could regulate the use of the Russian language in the creativity of Ukrainian artists. Based on civic initiative, we can actively participate in this process – form proposals, conduct discussions, discuss these issues with experts, legislators and society," the official said.In July, Ivanovska called for the adoption of a law banning songs in Russian.
