SBU chief Vasyl Maliuk said this in an interview with the My-Ukraine TV channel.According to him, these targets included the military-industrial complex, logistics hubs, enemy command posts, as well as the oil production and processing industry."The SBU’s Special Operations Center A is highly effective in this area, the flagship of such air operations not only within the Service but in Ukraine overall. This work is ongoing," Maliuk stressed. One example of a strike that influenced the frontline situation was the destruction of an enemy ammunition depot in Toropets, where half of all Russian stocks of 120-mm mines (there are 160,000 in total) were destroyed in a single operation."It was a mega-success! We used 120 drones, and another 20 drones were launched alongside us by other Defense Forces units. Overall, as in many cases, unity is key. When the SBU, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the border guards join forces, we achieve unique operations," the SBU chief said.He added that the SBU also takes an active part in direct combat across the front line, carrying out both combined-arms and small tactical group operations, as well as counter-sabotage missions.Among other things, Maliuk said, SBU units are using new combat tactics, in particular, unique drone assault operations. One of the first examples was a special operation in Russia’s Kursk region. The SBU chief described how last year’s assault on a company stronghold near Sverdlikovo unfolded. More than 100 Russian troops were stationed there."First, we conducted drone training, flying into every opening of the stronghold with our own means. We also used ground robotic systems, and then fighters advanced in small groups, with our FPVs hovering overhead. As soon as there was a threat or enemy fire, we immediately struck with these drones," Maliuk said.According to him, during this assault, 102 Russian servicemen were captured and more than 20 were killed. Now, the Security Service is actively conducting such drone assaults along the entire front."Even this week, in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy infiltrated in small groups and actually entered the city. The Russians call this the ‘small cuts’ tactic, hiding in basements and houses. In response, we conduct counter-sabotage sweeps. Every corner must be checked, and if the enemy is found, neutralized. Our fighters carried out this work with real results: many scoundrels were killed or taken prisoner," the lieutenant general said.Among the latest SBU operations, Maliuk highlighted a long-range drone strike on a logistics hub in Tatarstan where ready-made Shahed drones and foreign components for them were stored.
