A man has been killed as a naval mine exploded in the sea between the villages of Zatoka and Karolino-Buhaz in Odesa Oblast at around 11:30 on Sunday 10 August.

Details: Early reports indicate that the explosion occurred about 50 metres from the shore while the man was in the water.

Law enforcement officers have arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

The beaches in Zatoka are not included in the list of officially open recreation areas and are prohibited from use, although the resort destination continues to welcome tourists.
