This was stated by Andriy Dobriansky, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, on Espreso TV.“The key question is — who is driving this process? Is America really in control? Many of us here in the U.S. were surprised when our enemy announced in the middle of the night that a meeting between Putin and Trump had allegedly been agreed. This happened while the White House had not yet responded. But somehow, it’s the enemy who is shaping the narrative about how things will unfold,” Dobriansky said.According to him, former President Trump did not confirm any of the information 100% when questioned yesterday. He didn’t clarify whether the meeting would take place or whether any proposals had been received from Russia. He also refrained from confirming any agreements.“Trump has been trying for months to achieve a ceasefire. But now our country — America — is negotiating with a terrorist state, not a responsible one that would agree to stop firing during talks. Yet attacks on Ukraine continue every day and night. The Western alliance must state its next steps because right now, it’s the enemy controlling the narrative,” Dobriansky emphasized.Earlier, Russia and the U.S. reportedly agreed on a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Later, the Russian leader stated that the UAE was a likely venue for talks with the U.S. leader, while calling a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy “possible, but still far off.”Ukrainian MP Oleh Synyutka also noted that the U.S. has the capacity to force Russia to end the war in Ukraine. Trump has powerful military, economic, and diplomatic tools that have already proven effective, he said.
