The Defense Post reported the information. The Kızılelma drone is planned to be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces by 2026.According to the chairman of the board and the company’s technical director, Selçuk Bayraktar, the sixth prototype of this UAV is currently on the production line. In January, this prototype underwent another flight test, during which improvements to flight performance and avionics architecture were tested.
More about the droneKızılelma is the first multi-purpose UAV of Turkish production, which has become an important milestone in the development of the country’s defense industry.Designed to perform both "air-to-ground" and "air-to-air" missions, Kızılelma has a combat radius of 926 km, a maximum flight altitude of 7,620 meters, and a flight duration of over three hours. The Turkish drone is equipped with a modified AI-322F turbojet engine developed in Ukraine, which provides a cruising speed of 0.6 Mach and a maximum speed of 0.9 Mach. With a payload capacity of 1,500 kilograms, the drone can carry laser-guided munitions and long-range cruise missiles. The UAV can simultaneously engage multiple targets while remaining stealthy to radar. This is possible due to its low radar visibility and a modern radar system with an active electronically scanned array (AESA), which helps effectively detect enemies while concealing the drone itself from enemy detection. The Kızılelma UAV is designed for takeoff and landing on short runways, including aircraft carriers such as the Turkish Navy’s amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu.Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar expects to complete the construction of a drone production plant in Ukraine by the summer of 2025.
