The Center for Countering Disinformation reported this on its Telegram channel."Russia keeps militarizing temporarily occupied Crimea and ignores the rights of local residents," the statement said. "In the Kozacha Bay area, the Russian Defense Ministry uses its controlled courts to seize land and make people demolish their homes without offering them compensation or alternative housing."The report explains that the land in question once belonged to a military unit disbanded in the 1990s. It was transferred to the city in 2005, and residents legally bought plots there. However, Russian courts now call that transfer "illegal" and use this as a reason to take the land. Russian propaganda blames “Ukrainian officials” for the situation."This is a clear example of the legal chaos Russia has brought to Crimea," the Center for Countering Disinformation stated. "The law now serves only the interests of the occupiers. Back in 2014, Russia promised to protect Crimeans from so-called 'Bandera followers,' but now it’s forcing them out of their homes to expand its military presence on the peninsula."On July 18, the resistance movement Yellow Ribbon reported that Russian forces were planning more illegal construction in Sevastopol. According to them, the project may be part of a money laundering scheme and poses a threat to the city’s historic hills, green spaces, and unique landscapes.
