Military expert and former SBU officer (2004–2015) Ivan Stupak said this on Espreso TV.“Yesterday’s remarks were painful. Many were hopeful, and there were references to Lindsey Graham and various insiders, suggesting that Trump would finally send us weapons and put an end to all the skepticism. But as it turns out, you can’t trust him. Trump constantly talks, but his words don’t match reality. Two months is a huge window that gives Putin time to carry out whatever he’s planned. In fact, Trump basically told Putin between the lines: ‘Vladimir, do what you want. We’ll talk in 60 days. Maybe even later,’” Stupak said. The military expert also noted that although training troops to operate Patriot systems and moving them takes time, it’s unlikely to take two full months.“We have skilled soldiers who can already train others to work with Patriot systems. Plus, we’ve had experience using them for two years. I don’t think it’s a major issue. Sending long-range missiles isn’t some overly complex process that requires six months of training like with TAURUS. It can be done, but the decision just isn’t being made.Yesterday, I saw the Russian stock market’s reaction — it went up after this news. At first, there was skepticism; people thought it was the end for them. But when they realized everything was fine, shares jumped 2–3%, and the mood turned upbeat. Unfortunately, Donald Trump keeps working in Russia’s favor,” Stupak added.Trump has considered sending Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine — capable of striking long distances, including targets in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
