But it’s worth noting that when the 17th package was under discussion, Hungary didn’t vote for it until the very last day. At one point, there was even a day-long delay before the sanctions took effect," Stefanishyna said.Commenting on the risks of future sanctions being blocked by individual countries, Stefanishyna said: "Without radical political leadership in the European Union, it will be very difficult."The 18th EU sanctions package against Russia was again brought up during a meeting of EU ambassadors in Brussels on July 4, but wasn’t adopted due to Slovakia’s stance.
