Details: A source noted that the document contains "a US demand that the US government's International Development Finance Corporation take control of a natural gas pipeline from Russian energy giant Gazprom across Ukraine to Europe".

Reuters does not specify which gas pipeline is being referred to. However, Russian Gazprom does not own any pipelines in Ukraine.

Several gas routes from Russia to the EU pass through Ukraine (such as Soiuz, Prohres and Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhhorod), but all of them are state-owned and controlled by Ukraine's Gas Transmission System Operator.
