The US and Ukrainian delegations will hold another round of talks after the US and Russia complete their meeting in Saudi Arabia on Monday 24 March.

Details:The sources say that after the Russian and US delegations complete their meeting, Ukraine and the United States will hold another round of talks on 24 March.

The sources also said that the meeting between Russian and US representatives will review the ceasefire measures agreed with Ukraine the day before.

The discussion concerns the cessation of attacks on energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, as well as attacks in the Black Sea. 

In addition, the Ukrainian side expects the US delegation to reach intermediate constructive agreements with Russia at the meeting, but expectations from Russia are rather restrained.

Background:

• On 24 March, negotiations between the US and Russian delegations began in Saudi Arabia.
• The Kremlin said that discussions with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia are focused on resuming the Black Sea Grain Initiative, from which Russia withdrew in 2023.
• On 23 March, the American and Ukrainian delegations held talks in Riyadh. 
• Following the talks, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov said the discussion with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia had been "productive and focused", without providing further details.
