Zelenskyy dismisses claims of discussion with Trump on Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant transfer to US

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied any discussions with Donald Trump regarding the transfer of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant NPP or other nuclear facilities to the United States.

And we cannot simply dispose of this plant because it belongs to the state, he explained.
The Ukrainian president stressed that Ukraine was ready to discuss the issue of investments in Ukrainian NPPs and their modernisation.
But we definitely havent discussed the issue of ownership with President Trump, Zelenskyy said.
He added that the issue of ownership of other NPPs was not raised in the conversation with the US president either.
Background Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz stated that, following the conversation between Trump and Zelenskyy, the two presidents had raised the issue of Ukrainian nuclear power plants and their possible management by the US.
Last month, Zelenskyy noted that he had spoken with Trump and his team about nuclear energy and the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
