Air defence systems in the Ukrainian capital were responding to Russian drones on the evening of 21 January. A Russian UAV was downed in the sky over Kyiv.

Quote: "On the left bank of the city, air defence forces are engaging enemy UAVs. Stay in shelters!"

Details: Shortly afterwards, Klitschko reported that the threat of drones extended to the right bank of the city as well.

The Ukrainian Air Force also urged Kyiv residents to remain in shelters, stating: "An enemy attack drone is over the city," in a social media post.

Ukrainian military reported that strike drones were also spotted in several oblasts in the east and north of Ukraine.

As of 20:45, the all-clear was given in the capital, but the air-raid warning was still in effect in Kyiv Oblast and northeastern regions of the country.

At 21:20, Kyiv City Military Administration reported that debris from the downed drone fell into a body of water in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv. Early reports indicate no fires or casualties and that there is currently no ongoing threat.
