Slovak envoy in Moscow discusses Ukraine war with Russian foreign minister

Andrej Danko, Deputy Speaker of Slovakias Parliament, who led a delegation to Moscow, met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday, 14 January.
Source Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by European Pravda Details Danko and Lavrov addressed prospects for bilateral cooperation and had a engaging exchange of views on current issues on the international agenda during their meeting.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov explained the causes for the conflict in Ukraine and, as usual, blamed the West for arming the Kyiv regime.
Background On 12 January, a group of farright Slovak MPs, led by Andrej Danko, Deputy Speaker and leader of the nationalist Slovak National Party, departed for Russia on a visit set to last several days.
They intended to discuss the continuation of Russian gas deliveries after transit through Ukraine became impossible.
Announcing the trip to Russia, Danko said he would consider it an honour to be able to speak at the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The Slovak MPs trip follows a controversial visit to Moscow by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
