Losses caused by Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant disaster reach US$14 billion

The value of the losses caused as a result of the Russians blowing up the dam at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant HPP has reached about US14 billion.
Source Svitlana Hrynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, in an interview with the Rada TV channel, as reported by InterfaxUkraine Quote from Hrynchuk If were talking about material losses, almost US14 billion in losses has accrued due to the destruction of the Kakhovka dam and the loss of these water resources. Details Hrynchuk noted that the volume of water resources lost is equivalent to half the reserves of some African countries.
This was also a significant amount for Ukraine, and the issue of water supply in the impacted areas remains extremely critical.
Background Preliminary estimates showed that the Kakhovka HPP disaster caused damage to the environment worth UAH 78 billion approx.
