Russian commander involved in deadly Kharkiv Oblast attack injured in Russia, Ukrainian intelligence reports

Defence Intelligence of Ukraine DIU has reported that an explosion in Shuya, located in Russias Ivanovo Oblast, on 3 January, severely wounded Russian commander Konstantin Nagayko.
Nagayko was involved in the 2023 attack on a caf in the village of Hroza, Kharkiv Oblast, which resulted in the deaths of 59 Ukrainian civilians.

Nagayko sustained multiple shrapnel injuries to nearly all of his organs, particularly the brain, and later underwent skull trepanation.
DIU reports that depressing rumours are circulating within the Russian 112th Missile Brigade, suggesting Nagayko has little chance of survival and is in critical condition.
DIU noted that Captain Nagayko, 29, was born in Svobodny, a town in Russias Amur Oblast.
He graduated from the St.
Petersburg University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Mikhailovsky Military Artillery Academy.
He directly participated in the fullscale war against Ukraine, taking part in strikes with Iskander ballistic missiles on both civilian and military targets in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts.
