Blast wave from Russian drone attack damaged Ukrainian parliament buildings – photos

Administrative buildings which house committees and subdivisions of the Verkhovna Rada Ukrainian parliament were damaged in a Russian drone attack on Kyiv on 1 January.

Law enforcement agencies and special services were working at the scene yesterday to document the aftermath of this barbaric attack.
An assessment of the damage is currently underway.

Photo of Ruslan Stefanchuk on Facebook Details Stefanchuk said that despite the damage, the departments affected are making every effort to deal with the consequences of the attack quickly and ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the parliament and its bodies.
Separately, the speaker expressed condolences to the family and friends of renowned Kyiv scientists Ihor Zima and his wife Olesia Sokur, who were killed in the drone attack on 1 January.

Photo of Ruslan Stefanchuk on Facebook Background On the morning of 1 January, debris from a Russian drone fell on a residential building in Kyivs Pecherskyi district, partially destroying the top two floors and causing a fire.
Two people were killed and seven more were injured as a result of the attack. Later, it became known that Ihor Zyma and Olesia Sokur, a husband and wife who were both scientists, had been killed in the attack.
Rescue workers completed the search and rescue operation on 2 January, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine described the difficulties they faced. The building of the National Writers Union of Ukraine was also damaged in the attack.
