Taras Chmut, the head of the Come Back Alive foundation, a Ukrainian nongovernmental military charity organisation, believes that freezing combat actions in the war with Russia is a very bad scenario, as the Kremlin will inevitably break any agreements sooner or later.
Source Chmut in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda Details Asked what, in his opinion, would constitute victory for Ukraine, Chmut said Preserving Ukrainian statehood, independence, and our own independent vision of the future development path.
As for defeat, he said it would mean the loss of statehood, the loss of the countrys territories, and the loss of independence in deciding where and how Ukrainians should move forward.
Asked whether freezing the war would be considered a loss, the volunteer replied This is a very bad scenario for us.
Russia will fk us over.
No matter how hard it is for us, we must press on.
Because the day after a ceasefire, well start arguing who fought harder, who delivered more, and who is the bigger patriot.
Well start forming political lists and scrambling for power, while Russia will continue arming itself.
Some time will pass, and it will attack again.
And it wont repeat the mistakes it made in 2022.
As a country, we must begin preparing for the next war the day after the ceasefire.
And Im very afraid we might not come to the conclusions we should have come to back in 2015. We bought ourselves time but didnt use it wisely.
Russia bought itself time and used it effectively.
However, it made several major mistakes, and we managed to push through.
It underestimated our society and overestimated itself.
