Italian Prime Minister Meloni meets with Hungary’s Orbán to discuss Ukraine

During a recent meeting, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbn discussed the situation in the Middle East, their support for just peace in Ukraine and Ukraines postwar recovery.
Source AP, as reported by European Pravda Details Meloni also congratulated Orbn on his sixmonth rotating presidency of the European Union Council, the first phase of EU accession negotiations with Albania, and the progress made with Bulgaria and Romania in the enlargement of the Schengen area.
Meloni and Orbn also underlined the importance of tackling the problem of illegal migration, calling for greater cooperation to address the root causes and combat trafficking and smuggling.
Background On 4 December, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbn met with the Pope they discussed the situation in Ukraine, among other issues.
Orbn also made several trips to Russia and China during Hungarys EU presidency, where he spoke of peace in Ukraine.
Despite the barrage of criticism and the lack of any real results of his peace efforts, the Hungarian prime minister continued to talk about the need for a ceasefire without explaining how it could be achieved.
Orbn recently complained that the threat of war escalation has never been greater.
