Sweden announces assistance in civil protection worth US$9.3 million for Ukraine

During his visit to Kyiv this week, Swedish Civil Defence Minister CarlOskar Bohlin announced a package of support of 100 million Swedish kronor approx.
US9.33 million for civil protection in Ukraine.
Source Swedish government on Tuesday 5 November, as reported by European Pravda Details During the visit, Bolin signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ukraines Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, and presented the new package of civil support for Ukraine.
The package includes two patrol vessels, 24 cars, a minibus, a heavy truck, and personal protective equipment delivered by the Swedish coast guard, as well as 40.000 protective masks with filters purchased for Ukraine.
The package, which still needs to be authorised by the Swedish government, is supported by a threeyear financial program for Ukraine worth 75 billion Swedish kronor approx.
US9.33 billion, which the Swedish government agreed to in May 2024.
Furthermore, under the terms of the Memorandum, the Swedish Coast Guard will be working with Ukraines State Border Guard Service and State Emergency Service to exchange experience and training.
Sweden will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary, said the Swedish Minister of Civil Defence in Kyiv.
In September, the Swedish government announced a new package of military support to Kyiv totalling more than 400 million, including the possibility of training Ukrainian pilots on Gripen fighter aircraft.
