Political analyst Vadym Denysenko spoke about this on Espreso TV."The Kremlin cannot help but take the entire negotiation process seriously. Because if Ukraine agrees to all points of the peace plan, and everything is heading toward Kyiv trying by all means to accept as many acceptable conditions as possible, then sooner or later the Ukrainian leadership will come face to face with Putin. After that, it will be harder for them to say that Ukraine derailed the negotiations," Denysenko explained.According to the political analyst, the question of territories is not the main issue for the Kremlin today. After all, the war against Ukraine had other goals for Putin, which have become impossible to achieve."If we want to understand what goals Putin is operating with, it's worth recalling the 'root causes of this war.' From Putin's point of view, the 'root causes' of the Russian-Ukrainian war lay in three points. First, he believed that a quick, overwhelming war against Ukraine would allow him to restore absolute police control over the post-Soviet space. Second, Putin believed that such a war would help him stop the de-Slavicization of Russia. Third, he also believed that the war would allow him to become the world's third pole. Today, no matter how the Russian-Ukrainian war ends, none of these three points can be achieved anymore. This will be impossible for the next 10-15 years, or perhaps forever," he emphasized.
