Russia lies. It cannot be taken seriously as negotiator

Such a phenomenon as 'Kuzovlevshchyna' – lying about military successes for the sake of obtaining undeserved awards (in particular, Russian general Kuzovlev publicly reported to Putin about the "complete completion of the capture of Kupiansk" and received the coveted hero star) is already so widespread that if I were in the Americans' place, I would not trust now a single word from the Russians about the real situation on the front. All this nonsense about 'denazification goals' is now perceived completely differently, when the Kremlin, and especially – their leader, have focused their main attention on seizing additional pieces of sovereign Ukrainian territory. Considering that Russia systematically lies, three main conclusions can be drawn:First: things are really falling apart there.Second: with the Russian war economy, everything is much worse than is being said.Third: there will be no decision from the Russians now regarding a long-term peace. The Russian invaders have taken too literally the advice about deceiving the enemy during war, which is indeed contained in some ancient treatises on the art of war. They have simply made continuous lying the basis of their strategy. I urge Ukrainian leadership to take this into account when making important state decisions.SourceAbout the author.
