Journalist Vitaly Portnikov expressed this opinion on Espreso TV."We do not know the ultimate goals of the so-called 'special military operation' for the Kremlin at this time. I would say that the peculiarity of this Russian 'special military operation' is that its main goals change according to their capabilities. I know their ultimate goal for sure - the liquidation of Ukrainian statehood and the annexation of former Ukrainian territories to Russia. However, to do this, they need to have the capabilities. Thus, Putin constantly has to change the goals of his own 'special operation' according to his own capabilities," Portnikov explained.According to him, the end of the war will mark a lasting constitutional process in Ukraine, which is definitely not beneficial to Putin."I don't think that among Putin's tasks is ending the war. After all, if the war ends, a rather lasting constitutional process will begin in Ukraine. And this, in turn, will not benefit Putin," he added. On December 8, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed the annual decree on the conscription of Russian citizens in the reserve for military service.
