Turkish president during meeting with Putin says partial ceasefire needed in Ukraine

Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told Russian leader Vladimir Putin during a meeting in Turkmenistan that, in the context of the war against Ukraine, at least a partial ceasefire is needed, along with a halt to strikes on energy infrastructure and ports.

Details: Erdoğan met with Putin on the sidelines of a high-level international forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, which was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. The Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of Türkiye reported that the talks focused on efforts to achieve peace in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
Erdoğan once again stated that Türkiye will support peace efforts. In addition, all issues were discussed in detail, including the freezing of Russian assets by the EU.
Erdoğan noted that efforts aimed at ending the war through the establishment of a just and lasting peace are of great value, and also expressed confidence that progress could be made in areas that represent practical benefit for both sides.
He also stated that the introduction of a limited ceasefire regime could be useful, first and foremost with regard to energy facilities and ports.
Erdoğan said that Türkiye is closely monitoring the negotiation process aimed at ending the war and, in this context, could host talks in all formats.
