Details: France has sent to Ukraine's State Emergency Service 40 state-of-the-art Colossus firefighting robots produced by Shark Robotics and purchased with French funds.
The robots were developed in close cooperation with the French fire service and are designed to simplify firefighters' work and reduce their risks during complex operations.
Engineered to operate under extremely high temperatures, the robots can be used both to extinguish fires and for evacuation, and can remain in environments that are too dangerous for human firefighters.
Colossus units were also used during the efforts to contain the notorious fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral, where they performed well, operating for more than 10 hours in extreme conditions.
Background: In the summer, Latvia donated 16 fire engines to the State Emergency Service, while the Estonian police, together with the Tallinn Rotary Club, sent 22 police vehicles to Ukraine for use by Ukrainian police and border guards.
