President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Russia shows no interest in a peace process, as it continues striking Ukraine's energy and critical infrastructure.

Quote: "We do not have negotiations with the Russian Federation; they show no interest whatsoever. But we do have interests and dialogue with the American side, and we are grateful to them for their constructive work.
As for Russia, we see only their strikes – strikes on our energy sector, people left without electricity, and strikes on our infrastructure, our critical infrastructure. This does not yet indicate that Russia is interested in a peace process."
Background:
- On the night of 8-9 December, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure across several regions, causing power outages in four oblasts.
- Emergency power cuts were introduced in the morning in several regions of Ukraine to stabilise the power system.
