US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine should hold a presidential election, as a long time has passed since the previous vote.

Quote : "Yeah, I think it's time. I think it's an important time to hold an election. They're using war not to hold an election, but, uh, I would think the Ukrainian people would ... should have that choice. And maybe Zelenskyy would win."

Details : Trump added that the situation in Ukraine "gets to a point where it's not a democracy anymore".

• In February, during remarks to journalists at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said he supported Russia's demands for Ukraine to hold a presidential election.
