Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force, stated this on Espreso TV."More than 110,000 guided aerial bombs (KABs) have been launched by Russians, particularly in the frontline zone. We have repeatedly emphasized that fighting guided aerial bombs is not a solution to the situation. We need to think about how to counter Russian aviation. We know that ordinary KABs fly 70 km, but Russia already has means that fly up to 150 km. We need to destroy the source that launches KABs – the Su-34 aircraft," Ihnat stressed.According to the head of the communications department of the Air Force, the key to victory on the ground is forged in the sky, so air superiority plays a decisive role. The war dictates new conditions, so new means of countering Russian guided bombs will be created."Of course, there are interceptions of guided aerial bombs. This target, in terms of flight parameters, is similar to a missile. However, its speed from launch to arrival actually halves. But the Su-34 releases 8 KABs at once – 100-kilogram or 250-kilogram ones. And if there are several aircraft, how many means of destruction are needed to shoot down each bomb? And sometimes, for one bomb, we have to launch several of our anti-missiles," Ihnat added.Over the past day, December 8, 139 combat engagements were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front, and the occupiers carried out 43 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
