Bohdan Ferens, an international expert and candidate of political sciences, stated this on Espreso TV."We often don't want to or refuse to predict that the situation could be even more difficult than it is now. Sometimes we generally aren't guided by realism, which is harsh, but unfortunately, if it's not taken into account, it's not excluded that the starting positions will, perhaps, certainly not be better than the previous ones," Ferens noted.According to the international expert, the issue of territories is the most complex issue, around which there is diverse vision and positioning."Whether it will be put aside and has already been put aside from the points on the negotiating table, or whether what can be balanced is being balanced somewhere – I don't rule that out. Whether there will be a struggle around it – and, in principle, fruitlessly in the short term, but the situation will also change. What we see: both escalatory actions by the Russian Federation and a protracted war. In fact, such options are more or less realistic," Ferens added. The White House is intensifying efforts to secure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's approval of a peace proposal that would require significant territorial losses, even as European leaders urge him to resist pressure and stand firm against Russian demands.
