Russia strikes electricity and heat facilities in Chernihiv Oblast

Chernihiv Oblast came under a large-scale Russian attack on critical and civilian infrastructure over the past day.

Details: Geran drones (the Russian version of the Iranian-made Shahed) struck a heat and power facility in the city of Chernihiv.
In the Chernihiv district, attack drones hit a critical infrastructure facility. Several settlements were left without power, but electricity had been restored by the morning, Chaus said.
There was also a hit on an energy facility in another settlement. A business facility was attacked in the Horodnia hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
In the town of Mena, a UAV strike targeted one of the local businesses.
Chaus reported that the town of Novhorod-Siverskyi was attacked by Russian Geran drones, causing damage. A police station, a medical college and houses were damaged.
"In his home, a 50-year-old civilian man was killed in the attack. A police officer was injured. Firefighters worked at the impact sites, extinguishing fires," Chaus reported.
In total, he said, the oblast experienced 56 attacks with 103 explosions over the past day.
Background: On the night of 6-7 December, Russian forces attacked energy infrastructure facilities in Poltava Oblast, particularly in the city of Kremenchuk, and in Chernihiv Oblast.
