Unidentified drones reported near Zelenskyy's flight path to Ireland

Four unidentified drones were flying towards the flight path of a plane carrying Volodymyr Zelenskyy, breaching a no-fly ban on Monday evening as the Ukrainian president was travelling to Ireland.
Source: Irish portal The Journal, citing its sources, as reported by European Pravda
Details: The Journal sources said that four "military-style drones" reached an area near Dublin airport where Zelenskyy's aircraft was due to pass at about 23:00. The plane landed ahead of schedule and therefore did not intersect with the unmanned aerial vehicles.
The drones then flew towards the Irish naval vessel LÉ William Butler Yeats, which had been secretly deployed off Dublin. The Irish Armed Forces decided not to shoot them down.
Security services have established that the drones were launched from the northeast of Dublin and remained in the air for up to two hours. The Journal writes that it is not yet known who launched the UAVs, for what purpose, or where they are now.
Quote: "Ireland's security services have found that the drones at Dublin airport were large, hugely expensive, of military specification, and that the incident could be classed as a hybrid attack."
More details: The Journal added that, following the incident, an emergency meeting of Ireland's top leadership took place on Tuesday 2 December and that the aircraft carrying Zelenskyy made a special departure from Dublin to minimise the risk of further drone incidents.
Background:
- During President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's official visit to Ireland, the two countries signed a partnership roadmap for the next five years.
- In 2024, a man in Norway stood trial for launching a drone during Zelenskyy's visit to the country.
