Zelenskyy: Plan to end war with dignity could be finalised in coming days

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes it is quite possible to reach an agreement with the US on the necessary steps for a dignified conclusion to the war within the next few days.

Quote : "The Ukrainian delegation should already be in the United States by this evening, US time. The dialogue based on the Geneva points will continue. Diplomacy remains active.
The American side is demonstrating a constructive approach, and in the coming days it is feasible to flesh out the steps to determine how to bring the war to a dignified end. The Ukrainian delegation has the necessary directives, and I expect the guys to work in accordance with clear Ukrainian priorities."
Details : In his address, Zelenskyy also mentioned that preparations are underway to engage with Ukraine's partners next week, "including to ensure a higher quality of our air defence, and we are very much counting on our partners' support".
Background :
- On Saturday, a Ukrainian delegation headed by Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, set off for the United States to continue talks on the US "peace plan". Zelenskyy expects a report on Sunday.
- Axios earlier reported that Andrii Yermak, former head of the Ukrainian President's Office, himself was due to travel to the US for negotiations on a "peace agreement".
- Nine people have joined the delegation that will attend peace talks on resolving the war launched by Russia against Ukraine, among them Umierov, Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU); Vadym Poklad, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine; and Andrii Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
