Moldova's President Maia Sandu has condemned Russia's latest nighttime attack on Ukraine and said it clearly shows the Kremlin is not willing to end the war.
Source: Sandu on X (Twitter), as reported by European Pravda
Details: Sandu said that Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine is neither "the language of diplomacy, nor of a country claiming to negotiate peace".
Quote: "On their way to kill civilians, Russian drones again violated Moldovan airspace, forcing its temporary closure. We condemn these attacks and stand with Ukraine."
Background:
- Earlier, it was confirmed that two Russian drones involved in the 28-29 November attack on Ukraine passed through Moldova's airspace.
- The closure of Moldova's capital airport for over an hour disrupted three flights arriving at or departing from Chișinău.
- The previous incursion of Russian drones into Moldova's airspace took place on 25 November, when Moldova's military surveillance systems detected six drones in the country's airspace; one of them "landed" on the roof of a building in a rural area. A drone also flew deep into Romanian territory, more than 100 km from the border with Ukraine.
