Russian strike on Kyiv: hits on high-rise buildings leave 1 killed and 11 injured, including child – photos

Residential buildings in several Kyiv districts have been damaged following a large-scale Russian drone and ballistic missile attack on the night of 28-29 November. One person has been killed and 11 injured, including a child.

Details: Klitschko said medical crews had been dispatched to the Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Darnytskyi districts.
Early reports from Kyiv City Military Administration indicated that a child had been injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
Updated at 01:53. Tkachenko stated that damage had been recorded at at least six locations in different parts of the city.
"This is residential infrastructure – high-rise buildings and homes. There are injured people," he said.
Quote from Klitschko: Debris hit a 14-storey building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, causing apartments on the third and fourth floors to catch fire. The fire has been contained.
Debris hit a 25-storey residential building in the Solomianskyi district, leading to the insulation catching fire and partial destruction of the facade from the ground to the second floors. Cars in the courtyard were damaged.
Debris fell on the roof of a 17-storey building also in the Solomianskyi district. A house is on fire."
Details: It was initially reported that at least four people had been injured.
"One of them has been taken to hospital. The others were treated at the scene," Klitschko said.
Updated at 02:25: Klitschko reported that the number of injured had risen to six. Three of them, including a 13-year-old child, have been taken to hospital.
Updated at 03:30: According to updated information from Tkachenko, rescue workers had recovered the body of a man at one of the locations in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
"There is currently one person killed and seven injured in Kyiv, including a child," he said.
Updated at 05:40: Tkachenko reported that the number of injured had increased to 11.
The authorities urge residents of the capital to stay in shelters until the all-clear is given.
Background: On the night of 28-29 November, Russia launched another large-scale combined attack on Ukraine. An air-raid warning was issued in the city of Kyiv and most oblasts. A series of explosions was heard in the capital shortly after the military reported a threat of missile attacks. The Kyiv City Military Administration warned of drones heading towards the city.
