Hungarian foreign minister says EU "sabotage" stopped Trump from delivering Ukraine peace sooner

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has suggested that the US "peace plan" would already have brought peace to Ukraine if it had not been "sabotaged" by European leaders.

Details: When asked to comment on Hungary's position on the US "peace plan" during Szijjártó's visit to Romania, he repeated his criticism of his EU counterparts, whom he has urged to support the proposals.
Quote: "We believe that this 'peace plan' is a huge opportunity to achieve peace. Both Ukrainians and we Europeans have lost far too much because of this war and we don't want to pay an even higher price for a war for which we bear no responsibility.
That's why we are keeping our fingers crossed for President Trump and asking those responsible in Brussels and the leaders of Western Europe not to sabotage the talks. If they had not been sabotaging President Trump's plans so far, President Trump's plan would have succeeded already."
Background:
- White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on 25 November that the United States has made "tremendous progress" towards reaching a "peace deal" between Ukraine and Russia, but "there are a few delicate, but not insurmountable, details that must be sorted out".
- The United States and Ukraine developed a new 19-point peace agreement during the Geneva talks but left the most politically sensitive issues for the two presidents to decide.
