Details: The results show that 47% of British voters believe the US president is an obstacle to efforts to end the fighting in Ukraine, compared with 21% who think he is helping.
Just over one fifth of respondents (21%) said Trump is neither helping nor hindering peace efforts, while 11% didn't know.
A large majority of British voters (75%) also said it is important for the UK to defend Ukraine's sovereignty, while only 8% disagreed.
"One rare public opinion constant since Russia's invasion of Ukraine has been Brits steadfast support for Ukraine and belief that Ukraine's future matters not just for the country itself but for the UK today," said Luke Tryl, executive director of More in Common.
More in Common surveyed 2,062 British adults between 22 and 24 November.
In recent days, the United States has stepped up efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, proposing a 28-point "peace plan".
Background:
- The United States and Ukraine developed a new 19-point peace agreement during the Geneva talks but left the most politically sensitive issues for the two presidents to decide.
- Talks between US and Russian representatives are expected to continue in Abu Dhabi on 25 November.
