Turkish president calls to resume Ukraine-Russia talks in Istanbul and expand their scope

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called for the resumption of talks between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul, as well as for an expansion of their agenda.

Details: Erdoğan recalled that Türkiye has hosted a total of three rounds of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, during which "some progress was achieved, particularly on humanitarian issues".
"Additionally, the parties were able to directly discuss matters regarding ceasefire, peace, and other military aspects. We consider all these steps valuable achievements," he added.
The Turkish president also said that during talks with Zelenskyy, he advocated for the continuation of the Istanbul process with a "pragmatic and results-oriented approach".
"We consider it appropriate for the Istanbul process to resume with a broader scope and be directed towards solving issues that have already reached a critical stage," Erdoğan stated.
