Ukraine, Greece to jointly produce naval drones

The Greek publication Kathimerini reported the information.The confidential agreement provides for the launch of a new production line at Greek enterprises. It will be capable of producing modern unmanned maritime platforms, which will then be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Greece.The publication writes that this decision was one of the key results of the meeting between the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.Greek companies will be involved in the production, providing the project with electronics, optical systems, sensors, and, if necessary, explosive materials.In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation towards the creation of underwater unmanned vehicles if the USV program is extended.Greece noted that Ukrainian defense technologies are characterized by a high dynamic of development, and combat tactics are updated approximately weekly to respond to rapid changes in Russian unmanned systems.In the near future, a military delegation from Greece and representatives of the shipyard where the production line is planned to be located will arrive in Ukraine to further work out the details of the cooperation.The Greek government intends to transfer a package of weapons to Ukraine through the Czech Republic, containing dozens of units of heavy equipment and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition.
