Quote from a source in the SSU: "New data has emerged on the results of yesterday's long-range drone strike in Novorossiysk by the Special Operations Centre Alpha.
Satellite imagery confirms that the Security Service has successfully destroyed four S-400 Triumph surface-to-air missile launchers located on the grounds of a military unit of the Red Banner Kuban Regiment. The enemy has also lost two key radars – a 96N6 early-warning radar ('Cheese Board') and a 92N6 target-engagement radar ('Grave Stone')."
Details: Before the attack, approximately 12 S-400 launchers were deployed at the military site, and there is a strong likelihood that the others sustained damage as well.
The operation was conducted by the SSU together with the Security and Defence Forces (Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces and the State Border Guard Service).
Background:
- On the night of 13-14 November, Ukrainian UAVs struck port and oil infrastructure in Russia's Novorossiysk, damaging an oil depot, a container terminal, coastal facilities and a vessel.
- In addition to Russian oil, Kazakh crude also passes through Novorossiysk. The port handles more than 2 million barrels of oil per day, amounting to around 5% of global seaborne supplies.
- As of the morning of 14 November, oil prices had risen by roughly 2% amid concerns over supply after drones hit an oil storage facility in the Russian port of Novorossiysk.
- Reuters reported earlier, citing two industry sources, that the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk has suspended oil exports since an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on 14 November.
