Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will not be able to block Ukraine's path to the European Union.

Details: Zelenskyy said that despite Orbán's wishes, no one will stop Ukraine's progress towards Europe.
"The Russians could not do it. Does he think that if it happens six months later or some other time, it will stop Ukraine? No," the Ukrainian president stressed.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has nothing against Hungary or the Hungarian people but cannot remain silent when the leadership of a neighbouring country helps Russian propaganda.
Quote: "We are doing nothing against the Hungarian people and are grateful to them. We are doing nothing against the Hungarian leader either, but we cannot stay diplomatic when such things are said about us or when rhetoric, diplomacy, or other actions help Russia. We defend our dignity, freedom and independence."
Background:
- Zelenskyy earlier stated that Ukraine should not compromise its values because of Hungary's position on the country's accession to the European Union, stressing that Budapest's obstruction of Ukraine's EU path effectively supports Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
- Meanwhile, the EU is reportedly ready to launch a new mechanism to bypass Hungary's veto – "frontloading".
