President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that government officials must increase the capacity of the military to purchase necessary equipment, gear and components.

Quote: "We will increase funding for brigades; we will increase funding for corps that are on the front line, in the fiercest battles.

Officials must also expand the ability of the military to purchase necessary equipment, gear and components. There are many issues, in particular concerning the decommissioning of property. We must regulate all of this.

We also discussed in detail the new contract basis of service in our armed forces – all of this is being worked through and there must be clear details for our soldiers."

Details: The president also praised the units that are introducing innovative approaches both in combat and in rescuing the wounded.

Quote: "In recent days, the soldiers from our 1st Separate Medical Battalion, who are responsible for evacuating the wounded in the east of our country, have performed exceptionally well.

The military carried out a truly unique operation to save a wounded soldier using a ground-based complex. There were six failed evacuation attempts under very heavy Russian fire, but the seventh attempt succeeded – our ground drone helped, and now the wounded soldier is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

His life has been saved. I am grateful for that! Today I have signed a decree to award the participants of the operation with state honours."

Background: The defence forces evacuated a wounded soldier who had spent thirty-three days with a tourniquet and a severe injury using a ground-based robotic complex.
