This is reported by the organization's official publication, citing a speech by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The politician emphasized that the world is facing real and lasting threats, the main of which remains Russia's war against Ukraine.According to Rutte, Moscow is not acting independently but is closely cooperating with China, North Korea, Iran, and other states, expanding defense cooperation to an "unprecedented level." These countries, he said, are preparing for a protracted confrontation and trying to undermine the world order.NATO stressed that the Alliance must be ready for these challenges, adhering to the principle of "peace through strength." To do this, it is necessary to focus on three key areas: increasing arms volumes, developing creativity, and strengthening cooperation.Rutte noted that NATO countries already have the most modern systems that provide a technological advantage, but it is necessary to increase production and accelerate supplies."We are already turning the tide on ammunition. Until recently, Russia was producing more ammunition than all NATO Allies put together," Rutte emphasized.According to him, dozens of new production lines are currently opening in the Alliance's member states, existing enterprises are being modernized, and the pace of arms production has become the highest in the last decade."We are making more than we have done in decades. We need to build on this progress in other areas, from high end air defence and low-cost drone interceptors," the NATO Secretary General concluded. On October 24, after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, Mark Rutte called for increased pressure on Russia, stating that its dictator Vladimir Putin was running out of ideas and soldiers.
