Rostyslav Khotyn, a journalist and international editor for Radio Svoboda, discussed the matter on Espreso TV."Regarding Angelina Jolie's visit to Kherson and her security guard being taken to the Territorial Center for Recruitment, it's regrettable that this happened, especially with a world-class actress," he said. "It's a shame it occurred during her visit, as the focus shifted away from her desire to help Ukraine, show solidarity, and express respect for Ukrainian resilience.""Jolie traveled during the war to Kherson," the journalist continued, "a city that was under occupation for over half a year, liberated in November 2022, and is now constantly shelled. Despite that, she went there to provide support and to highlight the issue of Ukrainian children, shedding light on those abducted and not yet returned."According to Khotyn, the scandal involving the security guard highlights problems with Ukrainian mobilization, which is not the kind of global PR Ukraine needs right now."It's clear there's a positive PR benefit from trips like the one Angelina just made to Kherson," Khotyn commented. "But on the other hand, this resulted in negative PR because it brought a problem with Ukrainian mobilization to light. I think it was a big mistake for that to happen during her visit. In my opinion, the good PR turned into negative PR.""There's a lot of talk now, not so much about the purpose of Jolie's visit: her desire for solidarity with Ukraine, support for children, and showing Ukrainian resilience. Instead, it all pivoted back to mobilization problems and this negative press, which is very unfortunate."On November 5, information emerged that the famous Hollywood actress, fashion model, director, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie visited Ukraine's Kherson. Reports also included details of how her security guard was taken to the Territorial Center for Recruitment.
