Retired Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko stated this on Espreso TV."Pokrovsk is important not only on its own, but also because of how actions unfold from it in other directions. For example, one of these directions is the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy gradually advanced there from Pokrovsk and has now unfortunately entered the territory. In certain areas, they have penetrated up to 20 km and are using the so-called 'thousand cuts' tactic. Looking at the map, this involves incursions into several settlements. The Russian army has partially captured some of these, while the Defense Forces have managed to repel attacks on others," he said. The general emphasized that overall, there is an advance and capture in the Dnipropetrovsk region."This has happened over the last two months. In September, half of the territories captured by the enemy were in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In October, this share rose to 70%. The conditions for defensive combat missions there are different from those in the Donetsk region. The Dnipropetrovsk region has more settlements, industrial zones, and so on. This means there are more opportunities here, and all our defensive zones and lines have traditionally been formed here," the military stated. He stressed that in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the existing fortifications are not holding up. Furthermore, there are not enough troops to firmly hold back the enemy."That is one direction. Another direction is Kostiantynivka and the Dobropillia area, which is the northeastern part from Pokrovsk. After a raid, the enemy took control of the Dobropillia - Kramatorsk road. The enemy is advancing not only towards Kostiantynivka; this is their next target. In the near future, Kostiantynivka will be attacked from three sides: directly from Pokrovsk, from the Toretsk direction, and from the east (the southern part of Chasiv Yar). The enemy plans to advance further along our line of Kostiantynivka - Druzhkivka - Kramatorsk - Sloviansk," the general concluded. On November 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that about a third of battles and half of Russia's use of guided bombs occur in Pokrovsk. On November 4, DeepState reported that the situation in Pokrovsk remains critical. Since the beginning of November 5, 205 combat engagements have taken place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Defense Forces stopped 68 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
