Reuters reported the information.Ukraine announced Sunday that its drones successfully struck Tuapse, a major Black Sea oil port, igniting fires and damaging at least one vessel as part of Kyiv's ongoing campaign to weaken Russia's war economy by targeting energy facilities. Regional authorities confirmed the strike sparked a fire at the port. The Rosneft-controlled refinery suspended operations the day after the attack due to damage sustained at the port, sources revealed. The facility, which exports the majority of its production, has a processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day and primarily manufactures naphtha, fuel oil, vacuum gasoil and high-sulphur diesel for markets in China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey.Ship tracking data from LSEG showed three tankers were docked during the attack, loading naphtha, diesel and fuel oil. By Wednesday, all vessels had been moved from their berths and were anchored near the port. The assault represents the latest escalation in a pattern of attacks on energy infrastructure that has characterized the conflict. For months, Ukraine has targeted Russian oil refineries, storage depots and pipelines, while Russia has conducted similar strikes against Ukrainian energy facilities in a war nearing its fourth year.Prior to the attack, Tuapse had been scheduled to increase oil product exports in November. The export-focused refinery has been hit by drone strikes multiple times previously. Neither Rosneft nor Russia's port agency responded to requests for comment.
