The Chosun Daily reported the information, citing South Korean intelligence.According to intelligence estimates, around 10,000 North Koreans are stationed on the Russian-Ukrainian border, while over a thousand engineers are engaged in demining operations.Pyongyang has also sent another 5,000 citizens who have been arriving in Russia since September; they are expected to be involved in infrastructure reconstruction.“In particular, by heroizing the troops dispatched to Russia, he is highlighting his own dispatch to Russia as a significant achievement and appears intent on fabricating a new victory myth, following the 1950s, regarding the recapture of Kursk from Ukraine. We have also detected movements to establish two victory museums in Pyongyang,” the intelligence report states. On July 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did not rule out further participation of the North Korean army in the war against Ukraine, saying that North Korea itself decides how to implement its “strategic partnership” with Russia.
