The statement, published by the General Staff, emphasized that amid discussions of potential peace talks to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, Poland is witnessing intensified psychological operations against Ukraine.“Russian narrative operations are creating an atmosphere of fear and anxiety regarding alleged Ukrainian claims in Poland. Actions are being carried out to undermine positive Polish-Ukrainian emotional ties. Anti-Ukrainian sentiments are being stirred up in Poland,” the military warned. The General Staff noted that this hostility is manifesting in concrete actions — arson attacks on Ukrainian cars, destruction of anti-war murals, and the spread of anti-Ukrainian hate online. Growing anti-Ukrainian behavior has also been observed in locations where weapons are transferred or where support for Ukraine’s Defense Forces is organized, such as in Gdynia and Gdańsk.According to the Polish General Staff, Russia is responsible for fueling this wave of anti-Ukrainian hostility in Poland."The sole purpose of such actions is to fill our society with fear and a sense of threat from the presence of Ukrainians in Poland. In the Russian information sphere, this serves to build the message that the attack on Ukraine supposedly helps Poles ‘avenge Volhynia’ and should improve Poland’s attitude toward Russia’s actions."Moscow is also trying to create the impression that Ukrainians pose a greater threat to Poland than Russia itself.“The goal is to redirect emotions toward Ukraine — Polish citizens, wanting to return to their comfort zone, could then pressure the government to make decisions contrary to the state’s interests,” the General Staff said. They urged Poles to remember that at this stage, the distinction between aggressor and victim is clear. “The aggressor lies to the east — and that is Russia. Dividing Poland and Ukraine would make it easier for Russia to wage its war. Any actions that undermine support for Ukraine, in fact, support Russian aggression,” the Polish General Staff stressed. On November 3, in the Polish city of Gdynia, police detained a streamer known by the pseudonym Nazar, suspected of making threats, promoting violence, and inciting hatred on national and religious grounds.
